At Shalom Enterprises & Benevolence, we are dedicated to transforming lives through sustainable development and ethical business practices. Our latest initiative, Entrepreneurship Development for Needy Women, is a groundbreaking project designed to empower vulnerable women, including single mothers and family breadwinners, by equipping them with skills in tailoring and linking them to employment opportunities.
Our Vision
This initiative aims to create a women-led, exemplary ethical business movement that not only elevates the living standards of families but also contributes to the holistic development of our nation. Through self-sustaining businesses, participants will gain the tools and confidence to escape extreme poverty while simultaneously serving others in need.
Current Progress
The training program is currently underway, with a group of 25 women actively participating in daily sessions. These women, selected for their determination and need for support, are learning essential tailoring skills such as measurement, cutting, sewing, and dress designing.
The training center is buzzing with activity as participants practice on sewing machines donated by supporters of this mission. Trainers are providing hands-on guidance, ensuring each trainee gains confidence in handling tools and creating garments. Some trainees have already started producing custom designs, and orders are being placed by local businesses. This success is a testament to their growing skills and potential.
In addition, plans are in motion to provide seed investments and mentorship for participants to start their own small businesses after completing the program. This initiative has already begun creating ripples of hope, inspiring other women in the community to join future batches.
Our Objectives
The project is committed to:
- Producing a skillful and technical workforce in tailoring.
- Empowering women to provide services and launch their own businesses as entrepreneurs.
- Offering vulnerable women and their families a sustainable means of livelihood.
- Contributing to the national economy by addressing unemployment and creating skilled entrepreneurs.
Training Outcomes
Upon completing the training, participants will be able to:
- Operate and maintain basic tailoring tools, materials, and sewing machines.
- Independently handle tasks such as measurement, cutting, sewing, inspection, and dress designing.
- Create a variety of garments, from everyday clothing to fancy dresses and costumes.
- Manage small-scale businesses, including taking orders, production, delivery, bookkeeping, and customer service.
- Inspire and train other women to join the program and become entrepreneurs themselves.
Business as Mission
Beyond economic empowerment, this initiative is deeply rooted in our mission to spread the love of God. Many of the women we aim to help come from impoverished backgrounds and have yet to experience the transformative love of Christ. By extending genuine care and support, we hope to inspire them to embrace a brighter future and find spiritual fulfillment.
Join Us in Making a Difference
The Entrepreneurship Development for Needy Women project is more than a training program—it’s a movement for change, empowerment, and hope. Through this initiative, we strive to break the cycle of poverty, create ethical businesses, and build a community of skilled, self-reliant women entrepreneurs who can impact their families, communities, and the nation at large.
