We are pleased to inform you about the educational scheme with Shalom Foundation. The executive board has launched its Project #1: ‘Scholarship Scheme’ for the deserving and needy students who are enrolled in Nepal Korea International College. This college formerly was known as Maranatha Mission College, is one of the best Educational Institutions in Nepal, where the students are given opportunities to be trained in courses such as business, theology, sociology, technology, computer science and information technology, most of these are recognized degree, accredited by the state university.
The Foundation has its preferred priority, as its number one project is to an establishment of the scholarship fund for needy young people. Sole purpose to initiate for the Scholarship Fund has its twofold reasons:
First, hundreds of thousand young people have left the country for an excuse of quality education and opportunities for higher studies. By this provision, we may be able to assure at least few numbers of the potential leaders for the country.
Secondly, there are numbers of young people who cannot afford the higher education due to their geographically remote settlement, poor financial situation, and or being persecuted status for their new faith.
Most of the students in the college are preferably enrolled from far remote areas of the country where there are none or least opportunities for higher education due to geographical difficulty and lack of financial strength of the family. Since 2005, annually we recruit 25-30 new students for four years residential program, who are provided a good accommodation in separate hostel for girls and boys. We aim to train and fully equip these young people as future servant-leaders for the nation and beyond. Thus, your decision to partner with is acknowledged.
Objectives
1. Scholarship Scheme:
• To bring ultimate financial assistance to the students who come from low or no-income family, father or parentless orphan, very remote and unreached geographical locations, having been persecuted due to their commitment to follow a different faith than the family or survivor of the natural disasters of any kind, those who found to be willing to learn new things, and pledge to become a servant-leader to transformation of the country of Nepal.
• To raise sufficient scholarship fund so the needy students enrolled at NKIC would be able to accomplish their education (dual degrees in business, humanity, technology, theology and some other degrees by Secular University Education as well).
• To award the full-and-partial scholarship provisions for deserving students have a lifetime opportunity to grab the new knowledge, insights and skills and leverage their lives, family, the community they belong.
• To help produce an empowered, competent and well-educated new generation of committed leaders serving the local communities they belong, contributing towards the transformation of lives in Nepal and beyond.
